Coindre Hall Dog Park is a unique destination for dog lovers in Huntington, New York, offering expansive open fields with breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound. Known to locals as a dog-friendly park, this spot is especially popular for off-leash play despite there being no official fenced-in area. The park is bordered by woods and features large grassy spaces, making it an excellent spot for dogs that love to run, play, and even swim in the Sound.
Visitors should note that there are no restrooms onsite and no dedicated water fountains for pets, so it’s best to bring your own water and supplies. There is convenient onsite parking and wheelchair accessible parking is available. The park provides an open, natural setting with stunning water views, perfect for dogs who are social, obedient, and not prone to roaming. However, owners of aggressive or nervous dogs may want to consider quieter times or alternative locations. If you’re searching for a pet-friendly outdoor adventure on the North Shore, this beloved spot is a top choice for dog owners in Huntington and the surrounding area.
Closed during the summer weeks? Wish they posted that online somewhere.
Not really a dog park more like a parking lot with a field. No bathrooms and no access to the actual water possibly due to construction. There is no fenced dog area. Most people have their dogs off leash which is illegal. The views are the best part. They should have a port o potty or somthing.
Very cute park with a big open field and beautiful view. I just wish there was a bathroom and a way to access the water.
I don’t know why people are saying that this isn’t a dog park. Lot’s of people bring there dogs here to play. Also, someone wrote that there is no access to the water. One reviewer said it is closed on weekdays during the summer. Both are not true. It is located on the Long Island Sound. I’ve been bringing my dogs here for 23 years. While it’s true there is no fence, if your dog is a roamer, use a leash. That being said, this is a gigantic field with access to the Long Island Sound and is boarded on both sides by woods. My newfoundland loves to swim here and play with all the other dogs. Like any dog park, don’t come if you have an aggressive or fearful dog or one that does not play well with others. Otherwise, this is probably the best park for dogs in the Huntington area. Bring water on hot days.
It’s a dog park that doesn’t have a fence and also requires leashes and lastly does not allow dogs. Nice, haha
