Located in Hugo, Minnesota, Future Irish Avenue Park is a fantastic open space for dog owners and families looking for a scenic retreat. This park features extensive, pet-friendly trails that wind through woodsy pockets and large grassy fields, making it ideal for dog-friendly hiking. Visitors frequently bring their dogs to explore the 2.5-mile outer loop and the branching trails, taking full advantage of the beautiful, stable terrain.
Unique to this park is its laid-back, open environment, popular among those seeking off-leash opportunities for well-behaved dogs. Easy parking, quiet surroundings even on busy days, and the addition of amenities like an RC car track make this park a hidden gem in Hugo. While there aren’t many facilities and most of the area is open without much cover, the park is well-maintained and perfect for enjoying the outdoors with your pup.
I’d like to publicly express my thanks to the individuals (whoever they are) that made the radio control track possible. As a casual hobbyist I was enthralled to learn there was a public place where I can run my kits over a course and I look forward to visiting again. As a user of the race surface I had no problems straightening the drain tile that had obviously shifted place.
Well taken Care of, easy to get to, easy to park at, wonderful place for walking dogs and just taking walks… it’s all pretty stable ground, beautiful trails along the woods…GORGEOUS. and horseback riding here is incredible, a jewel in Hugo, tucked away from the crazy world.
A pretty large area with trails running through it. With 8+ cars in the parking area, I only saw 2 other people the whole time. The outer loop in the park was about 2.5 miles after checking out a few of the offshoot trails that lead the road.
A lot of off leash dogs around and that seemed like a friendly thing. Also a place for kids to run around. There are little pockets of woods, but most of this area is open and grassy. Not something I would consider a destination park, but really nice open space to get outside.
No facilities or playground of any kind other one garbage can.
It is a great open space for well behaved dogs to stretch their legs.
This is a good spot for a walk through open space. There are multiple trails that are cut, it’s a good spot for off the leash dog walking although people could do better about picking up after their four legged pals. There is an RC Car track next to the parking area.
