Discover Darrow Road Park, a hidden gem for dog owners seeking an easy, dog-friendly hiking spot in Hudson, OH. Conveniently located along Darrow Road, this small park offers a tranquil loop trail that winds through scenic meadows and woodlands—perfect for leisurely strolls with your furry friends. The park provides a relaxing natural setting abundant with butterflies, flowers, and unique mushrooms, making it a peaceful destination for local dog walkers and nature lovers alike.
While the trails can get muddy after rain and parts of the boardwalk are older, dog owners love the shaded loop and relatively short trails ideal for both quick outings and short adventures. Darrow Road Park is also wheelchair accessible and great for kids, making it a family-friendly destination. Enjoy a scenic walk with your dog while taking in the beauty of one of Hudson’s most approachable pet-friendly parks. Please note: the park is not fenced, so leashes are required.
Two words: hidden gem. This park is easy to miss cruising down 91 (Darrow Rd.) but it is worth the hike I think. The loop trail goes through both meadow and woodlands, and one can see wildlife like butterflies and rabbits as well as stunning flowers and unique mushrooms along the path; I was skeptical just by looking at the small gravel entrance but I am so glad I went there to hike.
Nice walking park with a good shaded loop. I took my cat on a leash and he loved walking in the tall grass next to the trails. The end of the loop is not shaded and it is not a very long walk but it seems to serve its purpose.
There a park is a nice to have thing by the roadside.
As of now it is not really spectacular. I am looking forward to seeing those native pollinator flowers bloom hopefully very soon 🔜
The trail is a wet muddy mess. We were very disappointed. Yes, it has rained a little recently, but not that much. We’ve been to other parks with trails that aren’t nearly as bad after rain. Some parts of the boardwalk are old and uneven in some spots. Also, we kind of knew better but some of the pictures tied to this park on google, aren’t of this park- primarily the ones with any rock formations.
It’s a great park for a small park. Don’t expect to walk super far or be able to do very much at the park, but it’s a beautiful little area. I love bringing my dog here or just going for a short walk through the woods. It is a little odd when you realize you’re walking near people’s backyards.
