Located at 379 Old Tavern Rd, Bark Park Off Leash Dog Park is a pet-friendly destination for dog owners seeking a safe and enjoyable place for their furry friends to romp and play in Howell Township, New Jersey. The park is fully fenced and divided into separate sections for small and large dogs (30 pounds and under/over), ensuring every pup has a comfortable space. With a natural, woodsy setting instead of typical grass, this off-leash dog park offers a unique dog-friendly experience in Ocean County.
Visitors will appreciate the park’s accessibility features and public restrooms (seasonally available), as well as plenty of benches for owners to relax. The park is wheelchair accessible, has a parking lot, and is known for being clean and well maintained most of the year. While sometimes quiet, Bark Park is ideal for a peaceful play session, though it can get busier as the weather warms up. If you’re searching for a dog park in Howell Township that combines convenience, safety, and outdoor fun, this is a must-visit spot for dogs and their humans!
The park is okay. It is pretty clean. It is nicely taken care of. I am not a proponent of dog parks, but that’s mostly because of dog owners and not the dogs. It is always a few inconsiderate people who mess it up for all others. For those who love dog parks, this is a nice place to try.
Fun, clean! My dog loved meeting and playing with other dogs and being off leash. Plenty of benches. Natural setting. Fenced in. Two sections for Large and Small dogs. Porta potty in season. I wish they left it there for Winter because dogs need walks year round and their parents may need facilities.
Went for all of 5 minutes. There was so much dog waste that wasn’t picked up it was disgusting. No way am I letting my dog get sick because people are too lazy to pick up after their fur babies. And I’m not talking 1 or 2 spots…I stopped counting after my 5th leave it command in 2 mins.
Nice place if you just want a fenced in area to let your dog run. It’s usually pretty empty. Not really an ideal place if you’re looking for other dogs for your pup to socialize with. Maybe it will get busier as the temperature warms up.
I was hesitant to go because of some of the bad reviews but, I went anyways and I’m so glad I did. I brought my 60 pound Samoyed and she had the best day ever!! It was a perfect space and all of the dogs & owners were so sweet. It isn’t a typical grass area, it’s more of a woodsy area but that was even more fun for her! There is a 30 pound & under area and a 30 pound & over area which was perfect. Definitely give it a shot and bring your pup!!!
