Gorgeous little fascinating park of water and elevated walkways.
Knowing that it’s actually a well-disguised water retention pond makes it kind of hilarious, but also genuinely genius.
Especially as the weather FINALLY gets nice, I plan to walk around it quite a bit.
Love that it’s basically right next to places like Torchy’s.
If they keep developing this area along these lines, with a mix of nature, aesthetics, and cool places to eat, this little side street could really be something brilliant.
I’d love to see them (MetroNational, I think) extend south of the Kirby Ice House with another restaurant or two right there.
Maybe build like a noise/sight/safety wall to separate it from I-10?
And I’d also love to see them expand north, and overtake those rundown offices north of the Torchy’s/park parking lots.
Similar deal. Make an extension of the park, with stuff like a walking path, lamps, benches, and fountains, and then maybe a cafe or something “in the park”, and have it all facing the existing parking lots.

Lovely park great for evening walks. Still pretty solitary, but with people at Kirby’s you still feel safe. There has been a cop in the parking lot every time we have been which makes me feel even better.

Great place for a daytime to walk. There’s not much to do besides walking and checking out the green water. There is nobody here since it’s brand new. come check it out.
