Charterwood Dog Park is a popular neighborhood dog park located at 9631 Bavaria Dr in Houston, TX. This charming and well-kept park is recognized for its clean, beautifully landscaped environment with thoughtful touches like bone-shaped benches, decorative hydrants, and lush grassy areas for your furry friends to enjoy. The park features separate off-leash areas for small and large dogs, making it the perfect destination for dogs of all breeds and sizes. Shade and seating are available, and owners can enjoy the park’s pet-friendly trails and accessible concrete pathways, making it comfortable for the whole family—even those with mobility needs.
What sets Charterwood Dog Park apart is its tranquil atmosphere and community-minded vibe. Alongside agility obstacles and shaded rest spots for your dog to play or cool off, the park provides poop bags and trash cans to help keep the space tidy. Public restrooms, a children’s playground, an outdoor gym, and even a Little Free Library offer extra conveniences to families visiting with both pets and kids. Free parking is available, though visitors are encouraged to bring their own water for their pets, as there is no dedicated water fountain within the fenced dog park areas.
Great park to take your dogs. There’s an off leash area with obstacles for the dogs to do. Make sure you bring a bowl and water for your dog as it is hot out. I always bring water. They do have a dog bathing station to rinse/bath your dog. They also have poop bags and a trash can, so please pick up your dogs poop. Let’s keep it beautiful. Have fun, maybe Sophee and I will see you there next time.
The park is absolutely beautiful. Well taken care of and clean. Just really really hot. I feel with the park being built inside a circle or pit type setup almost makes it hotter. But it is Houston weather so not really fair to complain. RECOMMEND by myself and Jake the pup
Small but cute park for dogs. We love how clean and well maintained this place. Cute details like bone shaped bench, decorative hydrant and landscape design are so charming. Grass is very good and not dry, my Pom loves running on grass! We came Saturday around 7:30 p.m. and we met only one dog. I guess because this place is mostly for this neighbourhood and it’s really small. Only one thing that I don’t like there is no water fountain.
Two nice small dog parks for small and large breeds. Shaded area, no water fountain, but does have a bath area that we used to give water to our dog. Careful of muddy water in the center. Concrete sidewalk. In order to get to the dog park which is in the reservoir area, walk pass the playground through a fence and to your left you will see the dog park.
I really like this dog park, although it is a bit of a hike to get here. Be prepared – From the street, thru the swimming/playground area, thru the gate for the walking/jogging area, around the grass/fence, down the long walk way (which is handicap friendly) – then you’ll be at the entrance to the actual off-leash dog park.
Really nice small and large well kept dog park!
*Note: bring your own dog bowl and water, because there’s no water fountain.?.
**There is, however, a Dog Wash area outside of the gated park.
