Bauer Pocket Park is a quiet, gated park nestled at 2201 Bauer Dr, in the heart of Houston, Texas. While not an official dog park, it’s a popular destination for local pet owners thanks to its open green spaces, paved and gravel loop trails, and shady trees. The whole park is fenced around the perimeter, but some visitors caution that small or determined dogs may be able to slip through certain parts of the fence. Public reviews highlight its peaceful nature, making it an excellent spot for relaxed dog walks or play, especially for medium and large dogs.
Amenities at Bauer Pocket Park include benches, picnic tables, a water fountain, trash bins, and a shaded gazebo area to keep dog owners comfortable. However, there are no separate areas for small and large dogs, no double-gated entry, and dogs must remain leashed according to posted signage. Parking is available in adjacent strip center lots or nearby public areas. The park is also family-friendly, featuring playgrounds and a short walking loop – perfect if you’re seeking a pet-friendly trail in Houston to enjoy with both kids and dogs!
Needs more murders to really be a solid H-Town park.
2 this year = rookie numbers
Cute park with picnic tables a good-sized playground and a walking trail around the perimeter. There is a water fountain but almost no shade so I wouldn’t recommend coming on a very sunny day. The park has a fence around the perimeter and that’s a nice touch. There is very limited parking available.
Sweet little park just perfect for my 2 yr old
Nice little park. Playground is somewhat old but lots of interesting stuff to play with on it. 2/3 year old can easily get on everything. Lot’s of shade throughout the day. 3 benches, 2 picnic tables, and a water fountain.
Nobody else was here the entire time we were.
What could be better: most of the park outside of the plaground area is dirt or a gravel path. Some more grass would be nice.
Need HPD Officers to check the park more frequently people are hanging out doing drugs.
