Not a place I’d ever go again. I’d rather be in a kayak on the water. I had an older man come up to me and a few friends. Before hand check out our vehicles before coming over to us. Odd I thought. Especially when it’s open to the public. There are no do not trespassing signs. He was just more annoying than actually trying to enjoy our fishing. Thank God there was another family that came from the house on the side. They were very more pleasant to talk to in their doggy was so full of energy and happy made my day. There is a creepy older man that lives over there. When he left he took a picture of us. The great thing is my truck has a camera system in it. Be safe people. Don’t talk to strangers
I grew up here so im a bit biased but i love The Pond. The beach could use some upkeep though. Folks dont dredge the waters like they used to when i was a kid. Watch out for goose poop!
Cute little park, perfect for a short walk
Disappointing. Nice fields, picnic area and sandy beach. And there’s trash receptacles. It’s very quiet, too. The pond is small and had nice docks. But, it’s very very reedy beginning only a few feet in from the edge of the water. This isn’t a place I would swim. I’d be concerned about bacteria levels and the fact there were juice boxes, paper cups and bits of plastic in the water which look to have been there awhile. There was also a rusty color and strange shimmery sheen at the water’s edge along the beach. Nice place to picnic or just relax in the shade but that’s about it.
This is a private beach that is open the the residents of Situate only. During the summer the beach is closed form 11 Am to 5 PM M-F because a summer camp is using it at that time. The area is closed from sunset to sunrise. No dogs allowed, and the people there will call the town police and report you if you bring a dog.
