Located at 690 Pohukaina St, Mother Waldron Neighborhood Dog Park is a convenient and pet-friendly spot for local dog owners looking for an off-leash experience in urban Honolulu. This fenced dog park offers a safe, although basic, environment where your pup can play and socialize under the shade of a few trees. It’s located within a larger community park, making it easy to pair your dog’s exercise time with a walk, a game of basketball, or pickleball nearby.
This Honolulu dog park stands out for its welcoming community of regulars, generally well-mannered dogs, and its relative sense of safety compared to some other downtown parks. However, the park has minimal amenities—there are no benches for owners, no water spouts, and ground cover can be dusty or weedy, so it’s recommended to bring your own water and poop bags. Despite being under-maintained, it remains a valuable green space for urban dogs and their owners to unwind near the heart of the city.

Its barely maintained. Theres pokey weeds on 1/3 of the park. Its a big area, but even my pup hardly feels safe enough to just outright run around. Theres no where to sit, probably because of the constant presence of the homeless. I dont see many other dogs except for one owned by the homeless here.
