This place is a diamond in the middle of coal country. Very laid back and well maintained. If you’re cycling USBR 76 and pass this place up for a night then you’re too much in a hurry. Slow down, get some rest!

One of the reviews recommended stopping by if you’re bicycling the Route76 TransAm tour, and so I did and oh boi!! What a great place!! First went to the pool and talked to the manager Lakeland and she was so supportive for TransAm Bicyclists. The food and drinks are for sale at the pool and I have to say….WOW!!!! Reasonably prices and the Chili Fries, slushies and hotdog was so GOOD! I ordered the chicken sandwich with LTOP cheese later on and OMG!!! I’m really serious when I say…this it was the best “chicken sandwich” I’ve had since my start of the trip in Richmond, VA. The menu was reasonable and wanted to try everything on the menu, but I’ve no time. They gave me access to the pool and shower no problem. But the closing time for a shower was 5pm. Food closes at 4:30. The male toilet stall is small with no room for your knees and standing. Large two shower room (shared) and large changing room (shared). No privacy showers. Wear your swim shorts to shower in. All the shelters were full that day and so she let me stay on the stage at the other side of the park. Power plug-ins everywhere. Porta-potty by baseball field in middle. Little noisy at dark from the main road. Both gates get closed before the night, but you can roll your bicycle around in the morning to the right at steep hill entrance. The pool looks great. They have another pool area for the kids. Lifeguard on duty. Bike repair station.
