My pup loves coming to this park. There are different crowds depending on when you go but Sunday mornings are great and the dogs are typically friendly. Great, clean park for the dogs. I wish that they were open longer, earlier and later (7am-7pm), but still grateful to have this park available for my very energetic puppy to run around and play in.

Nice dog park. The problem is the people bringing their problematic dogs here. Haven’t been able to spend more than a hour here because of the dogs, being aggressive towards mine. The lack of responsibility by the owners is uncanny, they will just try to blame you.

I love this park it’s a great big open space for the dogs to run and play. It’s is maintained very well; the grass is always cut. There is water play and toys and trees for shade. The only thing I wish is that they opened at 8am instead of 9am it is a little late to open and hard to make when you work a day job. Other then that I love they are open on weekends and do kind the Tuesday Thursday closed days.

Our dogs have a lot fun in the small dog park. It’s a great big yard that they can really run around in. I like the big rocks, so if your dog is part goat, they can get their climbing skills on & stake a claim at the “top of the mountain.” The humans that hang out there are mostly ok too, haha! 😉

There are hardly any areas whereby dogs can run, play and socialize on the Big Island of Hawaii. However, due to The Humane Society of Hawaii and many public donations, Central Bark, was created. There are 2 separate areas for dogs to run and play freely. One area is for small dogs under 25/30 lbs and another area for big dogs. There are shading pavilions for humans and seats or benches for the humans as well. There are toys for the dogs to play with and there is a water fountain that the dogs enjoy running in and out of. There are 2 doggie pools to chilled in and water dishes too. BUT, Your dog must have ALL of its shots, no ticks or fleas either. YOU MUST CLEAN UP THEIR POOP, bags and trash cans provided. Your dog must be SOCIALIZED APPROPRIATELY! OFF LEASH! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND OTHER ANIMALS, YOUR DOG AND ITS BEHAVIORS! So, go and check it out. It is opened from 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, for now. Hours of operation will be extended when renovations are completed.
