First visit and won’t be the last. Super clean grounds and nice folks on the trails. Bigger than I thought and nice mix of woods and fields. Lots of ground for gatherings and many were happening as we hiked around. Felt safe the whole time and enough rest faculties around for people.

Edit: Forest Edge Park is now open. There is an older and younger child playground. It is equipped with 2 baby swings and 4 normal swings. There are a lot of thing to climb, structures designed just for climbing, and a small music area. Also some nice touches, the floor is kinda padded so if kids trip they don’t land on the hard ground. The slides are light colors so they don’t get too hot if they are in the sun. There is a lot of shade in the area too. My toddler loved it!

The Forest Edge playground has been removed and they are making a new one. The Hill Top playground is still open.

Beautiful Park with Something for Everyone!
Holmdel Park in Monmouth County, NJ is one of the best parks in the area. It’s clean, safe, and offers a little something for everyone—hiking trails, picnic areas, open fields, a playground, and even a sledding hill in the winter. The scenery is beautiful year-round, with wooded paths, a peaceful pond, and wide open meadows.

One of the highlights is Longstreet Farm, a historic 1890s farm located right in the park. It’s free to visit and great for families—kids will love seeing the animals and old-timey farm equipment, and adults will appreciate the well-preserved history.

Whether you’re going for a walk, a family picnic, or just to relax in nature, Holmdel Park is a top-notch destination.

Highly recommend! 5/5

Chill park, very clean and well organized. The hiking trails are well laid out, but not particularly as difficult as I would like, hut definitely excellent for families or those not as mobile. The park is quite sprawling as well with a lower section and an upper section that is uphill. So the trail options are pretty extensive. I mostly stayed in the upper section to hike the High Point trail. Lots of parking is available and trail maps are readily available. Solid park for the region.

I have been going to this park for over 35 years. It is a wonderful sanctuary for nature that is never too crowded. I bring my family regularly now. The Tree Arboretum is especially beautiful as a special feature. There is plenty of parking, trails, and places to sit and picnic, and there is a main small building with indoor picnic tables and well-serviced bathrooms. Two great playgrounds, one in each part. In the top area, there are also tennis courts and some other features. We love the pond area with sprawling fields of green grass and trees. Bring sports balls, kites, and frisbees.
