Love this place. Take my dogs here often. A week ago I lost a pair of pink Maui Jim sunglasses. They dropped out of my shirt when I was holding my dogsaway from an off-leash dog that ran up to us. There were 2 women walking with 4 off leash dogs that I passed shortly after they dropped and Im sure one of them picked them up. I circled back and they were already gone within 20 minutes of dropping them. If you read this and happen to have them I would love to have them back. Please! I’ve gone back several times since, hoping to find them on a trailhead sign, but I’ve checked all the entrances and have had no luck.

We used to fish there years ago, but haven’t been there for a long time. We did very well, in fact I caught one bass that was probably close to 5lbs. Hooked into a pickerel, didn’t quite get him in the boat, but he was really big. We won’t stay away that long again.

This is a perfect spot to crash land your high altitude weather balloon! The trees are welcoming, though a bit tall, so you’ll need to bring a thirty foot pole saw to cut the rope between your payload and your parachute. (Please don’t cut the trees!) Watch out for ticks in the spring and summer.

Great easy walk, with trails everywhere. It seemed like the best trails were the skinny less traveled ones.
