Not friendly at all! Park pretty empty and they put us way in the back . Sights are so un-level it was impossible to get level. Lots of wash out around camps. If coming from Trace there is a bridge that is 11’ !!!!!! Lots of long timers.

My wife and I stayed there 4/6-4/19. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was nice and we loved the area. The area is so historical.
Was a little disappointed in how the campground was maintained. Tree branches down in a lot of sites and a lot of the empty sites weren’t mowed or had leaves all through them. I’m thinking if it was peak season it would probably be better maintained.
Overall though we enjoyed our stay.

I’ve never given a bad review, as I am usually quick to empathize and understand other perspectives, but this stay had so few wins, that I have to be honest and share my experience.

We stayed in our 5th wheel RV which is almost 45′ long, so they get a star for being able to accommodate us. Be warned that the roads are falling apart with very jagged edges and deep potholes. The road signage (ie One-way, street names) is placed for maximum confusion.

The staff are snarky and blameful. This can best be shared by our check in experience, but occured with every staff encounter. After a very awkward check in where I guess I was supposed to read the front desk girls mind and know, by her silent stare, which questions to ask, we were directed to site “C” and it was occupied. No biggie, site “B”, next to it, was available. So I called the office to make sure we could take B. The call was sent to an after hours number. While that person was helpful in calling the front desk, he made it clear that I shouldn’t have called him during business hours.

The front desk called us back and would not let us have site B, stating it was booked. Instead, we were sent down to site X on the same row, with staff claiming it had 50 amp, so they moved us. We didn’t ask for 50, but thanks!

Site X did not have 50 amp, and theres a notice on the post at one of the two 30 amp outlets: open ground. Do NOT use!!!
The site was very awkward to get into for our size, and there was no sky view (as requested in booking,) due to beautiful tree coverage. The trees also gave the bonus treat of ticks crawling on all of our outdoor surfaces.

Since we didn’t get a site with sky-view for starlink which we need for work, we purchased access to the campground wifi (NULL). The speeds and connection are abysmal- could not load a webpage.

The lake is quite large, and long-term sites block the shoreline everywhere but the main beach which was a 5 minute drive from our site. Normally, we would suggest riding a bike to the beach, but the campground has long, steep hills and fast vehicles.

Boat rentals are available, but only during the hottest part of the day. They have a water obstacle course that is only open during the weekend (its mid-August)

The pool and lounge furniture are very nice and there are no shade structures. The campground has extensive trails, all closed until further notice.

Oh, and if you’ve read this far, I can tell you site B was occupied for 2 nites and the trailer would have easily fit into site X.

This is my first time coming here and i went with some friends that are regulars here. the whole place is beautiful and i love how warm and welcoming it is. only bad thing i have to say it the algae was nasty at the lake, and the roads caught me off guard because of the potholes. but with the lake algae, i had to leave to go to the pool instead which was so nice and clean. the cabins are so really nice considering how huge and packed this place can get. love it so much. 9/10 !!

We’ve camped in our camper here several times over the last few months and have had a great experience every time! Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Betty, the other main office lady (I wish I could remember her name), and the young Gibson girl are all wonderful—so kind and welcoming. Josh, the maintenance guy, is also very friendly and kind.

The pool is fantastic, and we love the game room, the lake, bingo, and all the other activities they offer. Our family looks forward to every trip here and we can’t wait to come back and stay for a whole week at the end of July!
