Gorgeous park. We walked the trails on a picture perfect fall day. The park has areas for many abilities and interest levels. There is a wide open field perfect for frolicking humans or dogs. Some trails are flat and meander through wooded areas. The trees on these trails are a nice shelter from the sun and heat. During our autumn walk there was no bother from bugs. We spotted several birds and busy squirrels. Our walk up to the Big Ridge section involves some uphill trek ls which give a good burn in the legs. You’re rewarded with gorgeous vistas of hills beyond and the gorge below. Seeing the historic log cabin and community gardens were an unexpected treat. This park is certainly one to visit.

Beautiful, safe and friendly place to walk. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. We even saw a deer grazing in the field. She did not seem at all bothered that we were there.

It’s a beautiful paved pathway through the woods. There’s a bathroom at one parking lot, so no need to go on trail. Great sunset view part way into the trail just past the incline!

I brought two dogs that I unleashed on the large dog side of the dog park. The park is fenced and has water for pets. At best the park is basic or rudimentary. Grass covers 2/3 of the park but the part with water access is on the “grass is long gone area.” I don’t recommend this area for rainy days.

Great hiking spot, there’s a trail just past the cemetery that is a 1 mile loop, and another trail past the outdoor Chattanooga building that is around 3 miles down and back. Trails are well maintained, no litter or fallen trees. The path near the river does flood sometimes, if there has been a lot of rain it’s best to avoid it.

Kayak rental is available from the outdoor Chattanooga building. I haven’t rented from there myself so not sure about the pricing. It’s great that it’s available though.

The dog park is usually pretty busy, and is well maintained. Could be a little larger with all the space they had available.

Overall a great park.
