The whole experience of this trip was over the top! Not only the abundance of birds, but watching Dave and his dogs in action was truly a sight to see. When we weren’t hunting, the lodge hospitality was also over the top, truly made you feel like part of the family in such a short time. Thank you Amy and Dave!
The Olson’s Pheasant Phun far exceeded my wildest expectations.
The hunting was exceptional, all wild birds, great dogs, greater guides!
The lodge is a hunters’ palace, enormous evening bar and lounge, gourmet kitchen and dining area, the outside fire pits were great for BS fires, the beds were amazing, the accommodations were just top notch.
Olson friends and family members drop in for dinners etc, the whole experience was so friendly, so casual, it was wonderful. Next year we’re staying longer.
When we left….but we left our deposits, (cash), for next year.

These Olsen’s are the real deal! From the amazing hospitality to the abundant pheasant to pursue, this hunt was way beyond my expectations. The lodge was very roomy and comfortable, the food was delicious, the guides personable and fun, and Dave is just a wonderful host. I would highly recommend Pheasant Phun to anyone who wants to go on a genuine SoDak pheasant hunt and come away with lasting memories of flushing birds, beautiful working dogs, and great hosts to share with your friends and family.
3rd year back and another fantastic trip. Dave, Amy and Mrs Annie provide such a wonderful experience. Daves’s knowledge, safety, lodge, guides, dogs and property are absolutely first class. Amy and Mrs Annie are welcoming, kind and know how to make a weary hunter rejuvenated after a fun day in the fields. In fact, it authentically feels like coming home and being with family. Love these people and this experience. Thank you again for yet another amazing experience.
We just finished up 3 days of incredible upland hunting with Dave, Amy and the rest of the Pheasant Phun crew.
The lodge is an incredible place, the bird hunting is second to none, the dog work is fantastic, and the food at every single meal was excellent! The bar had an amazing selection and some rare booze too. We will be back!
