Beautiful scenery. Picnic tables were situated near the falls and this added to the beauty of the place. Would really recommend and can’t wait to visit it after it’s restored

Great Park & area. Under the dam is great place to swim & relax. . There done draining the lake and hopefully work progresses on time.
Unfortunately it looks like MetroPks took out wooden steps going up and whole fishing/ sitting area at top of Dam.? Hopefully not. There’s generations of memories fishing & looking out up there…

I have been coming here since I was a child, It is a wonderful place to come relax, explore, swim, BBQ, Getting away from life. Even if it is just for a moment. This is a great place to bring your family and a great place to start new memories.

Update: 7/18/24: The Park Department is building a new dam, dredging the lake and rebuilding the spillway. It is a huge project.
The spillway area is usually great for swimming and wading in a safe and shallow area. The water is often muddy but it is safe to go in. There is a nice concession stand right next to this area. You can get snacks at the boat house if you need to. There is a big parking lot right next to this swimming area also. There are picnic tables nearby and restrooms that are clean. The park does a wonderful job of keeping the entire area clean and safe. It is truly a beautiful place.

This place is iconic. I went here for my entire lifetime and I’m 65. My grandpa took my dad here. Now Hinckley lake is being drained for much needed improvements. It’s still a great place to walk around the lake and take in the beautiful scenery.
