Located conveniently behind Pascack Valley High School at the end of St. Nicholas Ave, Sapienza Gardens offers dog owners a beautiful, pet-friendly space for outdoor adventures. Sapienza Gardens is more than just a walking destination; it’s a relaxing hideaway with sensory and butterfly gardens, benches for relaxation, and a peaceful nature-filled atmosphere. While it’s not a traditional fenced dog park, it welcomes leashed pets on the trails, making it a perfect choice for dog-friendly hiking in Bergen County. Ample free parking is available at the end of St. Nicholas Ave, making visits easy and stress-free for local dog owners and their furry friends.
This was once the site of Prenti’s Pond, at the end of St Nicholas Ave. It’s been filled in, so it’s a nice parking area instead of a malarial swamp, and leads to some lovely walking trails among the trees. It’s a very nice place for a stroll, although there are some gentle inclines, it’s not exactly rigorous.
There is a parking for several cars at the end of St Nicholas Ave. Sensory garden is almost at the entrance, tennis courts are on the right hand side of it , while woods trails start on the left side. Quick walk in the woods, you can be done with hike in less than half-hour.
Beautiful! This park, dedicated in the memory of principal Sapenzia, is a lovely place to visit. A small bridge crosses a stream that leads to an unpaved trail that diverges to follow a path into the woods OR a butterfly Garten and tennis courts. there is a Fit trail and several jumping platforms as well. We went on an overcast day and it felt like a secret garden.
A great place to get away for a walk in the woods. The paths are not too strenuous, there is a lovely sensory garden, fitness trail and some benches to sit and enjoy nature. It’s right behind Pascack Valley High School, and the entrance has a small parking lot at the end of St. Nicholas Ave. We had family photographs taken there in the fall, and have been back many times since then.
Boy Scout troop 108 has helped in the renovation of the walking trails. Trail markers, benches, trail head signs and mulch have been added to make your expierence here a more pleasurable one. Come and see all the gardens have to offer.
