Great place for a hike. Tons of skunk cabbage. Some henslows sparrows in the fields.
Beautiful old farm with many different projects to return native, non-invasive plantings. New Vernal pond is in place. Reintroduced American Chestnut trees. Wonderful hiking trails.
Second visit. Very easy walk through restored farmland, includes woodlands, frog pond, salamander pond, American chestnut research and many educational signs. A beautiful place. Also a place for those who love and respect nature.

Really cool place to walk your dog and have peace. Beautiful flowers and berries to eat along the walk. The different sounds of types of birds and seeing frogs jumping, the creek is awesome for dogs to play in. And there is a huge ant hill super cool to see them work. There is alot more to explore. Park at the cemetery you’ll experience the sanctuary. I’m so glad they have places like this available for people like me and dogs to explore and all the growing animals plants and insects to thrive. Hopefully one day I’ll see land turtles thrive there as well. Thank you highland sanctuary for making this possible!
