Located in the heart of Highland Park, NJ, Donaldson Dog Park is a favorite destination for local pet owners seeking a safe and friendly environment for their furry companions. This fully fenced dog park features separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring enjoyable playtimes for pups of all sizes. The park is known for its welcoming community atmosphere, plenty of benches, water access during spring and summer, and convenient free parking. The large dog area offers abundant shade thanks to mature trees, making it a comfortable spot year-round, while smaller dogs enjoy a cozy, dedicated space.
This well-maintained dog park also provides ample waste stations, bio-degradable poop bags, and large disposal bins, helping to keep the grounds clean. Accessible restrooms, as well as a community-maintained water fountain for both humans and canines, further enhance the experience. Families are welcome, with a playground, hiking trails, and picnic amenities nearby. With its combination of dog-friendly features and community vibe, Donaldson Dog Park is a must-visit for any dog owner in Highland Park or central New Jersey.
Overall it’s good but women’s restroom flush not working .dusty and spiderweb all around. Needs more attention
It’s usually not crowded at earlier times … and always clean and maintained.
Theres two sides to the dog park separated by a metal fence based on dog size – 25+ lbs on one side and less than 25 lb on the other, which is really nice. The large dog side (25+ lbs) is nicer than the smaller dog side – plenty of shade with trees on that side but the small dog side only have two trees. Both sections decently large. Large dog side has majority wood chips but they definitely don’t refresh the wood chips enough. The drainage is really bad after rain on the small dog side as certain areas remain muddy for a really long time (minimal woodchips on small dog side) so I don’t recommend going after a day of rain. There’s plenty of dog bowls around and some old tennis balls, fresh water available at the bathrooms next to the dog park from the hose during the summer/spring season. 5+ benches to sit on on both sides. Parking free. Overall a good dog park, kept really clean, most owners pick up after their dogs, but the land itself could be maintained a little bit better. Poopy bags available on both sides from a dispenser
This is a great dog park. I love being part of the 7am crowd. Very friendly people and the dogs all get along so well. I think there are a lot of people who have mixed feelings about dog parks in general. I have seen a few scuffles with the dogs, and the owners are all very responsible. With that said, there is definitely an atmosphere of being mostly hands-off with your dog when it comes to physical play. I have brought my dog to this park frequently since she was 4 months old. I can undoubtedly say that coming to this park has helped her develop into an extremely playful dog that is comfortable interacting with all other dogs of every size and breed.
Best dog park I’ve ever been too large high fenced area for big dogs and a smaller high fenced area for small dogs both have 2 gates with 10ft entryway set-up, dog poop stations with bio bags and large drums for disposal of the pooches poop. There is a water fountain for dogs and humans and a good size public restroom which is always clean and well maintained. If you live in the area of Highland Park I highly recommend bringing your fur babies here to socialize with the park pack. Princess Puppy Paws is a fan.
