It was a fridayornning in mid-Sept only a few people here. It has a play area for kids and consessions on the weekend. The walk way to the spring was well built and took you through the trees down to the soring. The water was clear and cool.
Beautiful spring leading into the Santa Fe River. Most of the area is sandy and shallow, but closer to where the river and spring converge it is rocky and slippery. There are also spots where you have easy access to the river. There is more algae at this spring then some others, so the water does have a more green appearance. There is a deeper area over the spring head as well.
Great spot! Admission is reasonable. I didn’t check out anything other than the spring and convergence into the river but that was beautiful! There’s a lovely boardwalk to the spring.
Great place. Be prepared to go through areas that don’t look like you’re going the right way. The inlets are hard to navigate but always a great time too. Bring your own kayak for a way cheaper option.
Excellent family-friendly natural spring experience! There are many shaded picnic tables at the spring swimming area and also in the pavilion area near the concessions stand, which was open and operating when we came with several options. Prices at the concession stand were a little high, but that is to be expected at such attractions. So make sure you pack a lunch. There is also a small playground near the concession stand and beside pavilion #1.The spring is very accessible via a boardwalk and is even stroller friendly. The springs are majority shallow and largely wadeable, even by small children. I came to this place with an eight-year-old and seven-year-old in tow while also six months pregnant and we had no trouble getting anywhere. If you wade out to the end of the spring, you’ll also find a rope swing where you can swing out above the Santa Fe river and swim back! So much fun for little ones here! Bring a snorkel and they will entertain themselves for hours!
