Very well-maintained and spacious locla park. It has lots of options with public restrooms available. Softball and baseball fields as well.
There is even access to the Virginia Calital Trail with paved paths that lead to and from he parking area to the trail.
Pretty cool place. I’ve lived here since I was a kid (never moved from Virginia) and I’ve gone here many times. In this park, in the very beginning (I think) there’s a place where you can even rent out a room for a party. I love the little ducks, and even though I’m older, the park is still fun. I plan on going for a picnic with a friend on Thursday and I’m excited!
visited Dorey Park on August 6th for the National Night Out event organized by my church, Speaking Spirits Ministry. The park provided a wonderful setting for the event. The facilities were well-maintained, and the park offered ample space for various activities.

We were traveling through the area and decided to stop by and give are dog a chance to get out and run around the dog park. Wow! Were we surprised what a wonderful park they have here. The dog park is very nice with a playground and lake right across the street. There is also great paved walking and bike trail that looks like it goes forever. There are plenty of branches and picnic tables available at the dog park and around the lake. There are multiple pavilions available with picnic tables around the playground area.
