Located in the heart of Haverstraw, New York, Emeline Park offers stunning river views and a relaxing setting for families, dog owners, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. This dog-friendly park features scenic walkways along the Hudson River, open green spaces, and access to nearby pet-friendly trails and hiking areas, making it a perfect destination for those looking to enjoy time with their furry companions. Enjoy the cooling breeze from the water and explore the historical significance of this riverside gem.
Emeline Park is not only known for its tranquil riverfront scenery but also for its varied amenities. Visitors will find ample parking, large picnic pavilions with seating, shaded spots, and playgrounds for kids. Dog owners can walk their pets along the water or explore the adjacent Hi-Tor Mountain trails. While the park does not have a designated fenced dog area or agility equipment, its walkable paths and open spaces make it an inviting spot for leashed dog walks, relaxing, and taking in the beautiful views of the Hudson Valley. The area is great for fishing and enjoying picnics by the water, but be mindful that the grounds can become muddy after heavy rain and that the park can be busier and less tidy at peak times.

Small park, small playground for kids and a good dock for fishing and watercraft. May be a little busy and dirty at times. Parking is limited.

Unfortunately the beautiful location of this park is completely overshadowed by the litter, neglected playground equipment, and obnoxious patrons.
The dirt was filled with wrappers bottles and cigarette butts.
Playground equipment was graffitied and dirty.
A woman who was there with several of her children was shouting expletives on top of her lung’s in front of the many children there, she was also encouraging her children to abuse the shorebirds in the area.
The bathroom was closed due to vandalism.
The only redeeming factor is the beautiful view.

Nice little park on the Hudson, nestled in Haverstraw with a cool breeze off the water. Also of note, is a historic marker proclaiming the site of an event in the Revolutionary War, where Andre and Arnold met in a treacherous plot against the Continental Army. There is a 600 ft sand beach to walk that is strewn with interesting artifacts if you like to beach comb or take pictures. It’s also a fishing beach and an old ferry dock which may have been the park’s original purpose. All that’s left are the pilings and an ancient haul out ramp for old wooden river boats in industries long gone. In the parking lot, hanging in weeping willows are two wonderful wind chimes that play melodious music over picnic tables in the grass. There is also a small caged basketball court. Hi-Tor Mountain is behind you and across 9W. That’s a good hiking spot with great views. And another reason to come here. But, that’s another story…

Nice clean walkable. No fences separating from the water and a sign that says playground not sanatized but a cute playground.

Nice park. Peaceful. Safe. Nice views.
