Nice beach but it is crowded.

fair parking prices and direct access to Atlantic Beach. this was our second visit to the NC coast and we definitely preferred this to the place we went to in Moorehead city last time. y’alls beaches are clean and beautiful and I loved the fact that the parking had a regular police presence as well!

Fresh water fountain for dogs, poop bags available all along fence, “airlock” style entrance, dedicated parking, benches, large enough for the dogs to really stretch their legs.

A bit small but being on base it is way too convenient to not give 5 stars. Tons of clean-up stations, dog water fountain and because of the trees, I assume a decent amount of shade in the summer months. Best part – there are usually other dogs to run around and tire my pup out!

I love this beach . Sun rise and sun set.

Lots of open space and a nice water station for your dog. Plenty of dog cleanup stations, and even a few benches… it’s a great place to get your pup out of the house, I just wish there was a bit more shade

Jamie

Our pup loved this place. The others pups and people have all been great.

Discovered by chance the delightful Salter Park public beach access on our way to Fort Macon. A long raised boarded walk zigzagging through dense forest opens up onto a beautiful public beach that was almost totally deserted. Paradise!

If you have animals it’s a good place to go to get out of the house. There are two fenced in areas for dogs to play in as well as a playground for kids. The fenced in areas are big enough to let your animals run around and burn off some energy. As far as dog parks go it’s basic but pretty good.
