🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Hau’ula Beach Park is a pet-friendly destination on the North Shore of Oahu, making it a relaxing option for dog owners seeking a scenic escape. Set right by the water, the park offers peaceful views, grassy spaces for strolls, and plenty of tree shade, perfect for those who prefer to avoid the midday sun. While the park is open and great for walking dogs, it is important to know that it is not a fully enclosed, off-leash dog park; dogs must remain on-leash at all times.
This park is known for its casual, friendly atmosphere and beautiful sandy shoreline. Amenities include picnic spots, a bathroom facility, and a convenient trash bin for dog waste at the main entrance, making cleanup easy for responsible owners. Public transportation and shopping are available nearby, and curbside parking serves park visitors. Note that while the park is well-maintained, some visitors have reported occasional trash or signs of homelessness, especially later in the day or after weekends. Muddy patches may also appear after rain due to dips in the grass.
A good beach to sit back and watch the water waves. We ate our lunch here on the beach watching the water waves.
Small beach. If you need quiet pick this beach. Saw some trash and signs of homeless people.
My fave beach park. Unfortunately, it had an algae bloom while I was there. You can take a long stroll along the shore, and it has may tree shades if you don’t really like the sun. Please don’t touch the turtles when they come to the shore.
It was a cool beach and had very cheap camping. Unfortunately the road is right next to the camping area. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and mopeds were zooming by and revving their engines at all hours of the night. Aside from that the families visiting the park for the weekend were so friendly. One group has friends and family playing live music.
Then the families started leaving after the weekend. Homeless people that were sleeping in the bathroom stalls all weekend started roaming the grounds. They were going in my tent while I was driving and visiting places on the north shore. One of the homeless people told me he was telling other homeless people it wasn’t their tent and to stay out. But they were in there anyways. The last morning I was sleeping and some homeless lady unzipped my tent and started going inside and woke me up and I heard a guy she was with yelling to her that “someone is in the tent, don’t go in! Don’t go in!!”
Nice walk in the water and picnic beach. Bathrooms, nice grass, convenient bus stop and shopping across the street. The is beach camping available by permit. Homeless people can be little bit of a problem at times.
It is right of the road but far enough away from everything to be on quiet side.
