Hart’s Brook Park and Preserve is a beautiful, tranquil park located in Hartsdale, New York. Perfect for dog owners, the park features pet-friendly walking and hiking trails surrounded by natural beauty—including lush forests, a peaceful pond, and well-maintained gardens. Dogs are welcome throughout the park, making it a favorite spot for local pet lovers looking for dog-friendly hiking in Westchester County.
The park offers color-coded trails, grassy areas for picnicking, and plenty of shade, making it comfortable for both dogs and their humans. The grounds are known for being clean and well kept, and it’s generally a calm, less-crowded space, ideal for a peaceful outdoor adventure with your canine companion. Seasonal events like Spooktoberfest and volunteer opportunities add vibrant community spirit. Nearby playgrounds, picnic areas, and scenic spots ensure fun for the whole family—not just the four-legged members. Free parking is available, but spaces are limited.

The park was great—views were beautiful, however, i would not recommend biking for jogging as the roads are extremely rocky and not completely flat. Otherwise, it’s an ok park!

This was the first time walking its trail with my dog. It was very peaceful and well maintained park. My dog loved it. It made him go zoomies at the end! This will be our favorite trail!

Beautiful space with walking trails, a pond, a farm/garden with volunteer opportunities, and an annual Spooktoberfest event for Halloween. Great place to walk and bring your dog, very quiet and we rarely run into people here. Nice grass areas with sculptures for picnicking. About 10 parking spaces, you could also park at Ridge Road park and walk over.

A beautiful park with colour coded trails — they even have maps at regular intervals so you can orientate yourself. The reserve is clean and well cared for — it is also the home of lots of little creatures including chipmunks, deer, squirrels, and birds. A very pleasant place to visit.

We really had lots of fun at theSpooktoberfest. Everyone e was nice, the price was feasible for the whole family. There was free parking, shutter bus to and from your car, there was plenty to do and eat. With good food and music
Will definitely come back next year as a vendor
