Van Buren Trail State Park

Van Buren Trail State Park offers a 14-mile flat trail ideal for hiking, biking, and walking with scenic views of farms. The trail is underdeveloped and can be muddy or have standing water during certain seasons, making it more suitable for mountain bikes or walking hikes rather than road biking. It is family-friendly with good facilities for children and is dog-friendly. The park has wheelchair accessible entrances and parking. Parking accessibility may vary due to construction.

Flat trail with views of farms.
Parking was a bit challenging with construction vehicles in the lot but we made it in. Trail is a bit rough but we did a few miles. Need bug spray once you cross the river.
Not a trail for a road bike at all. Even with a mountain bike tire, there are areas that would have been difficult due to standing water. It was springtime so it might be better during the summer. It would be a great walking trail.
14 mile state park trail from Hartford to South Haven.
If you look at it as an adventure and understand that it’s an underdeveloped trail, it’s a good time! Today there was water over the trail around 2 miles in from the Hartford trail head and it was muddy and mushy in places. I strongly recommend riding a mountain bike.
