I initially spent 2 weeks touring apartments all throughout Hartford and as soon as I saw this place I knew it was the one. Having lived here for nearly a year this is hands down the best place to live in Hartford and it isn’t even close. The amenities are second to none. Did I mention there was free coffee? The rooftop patio is well furnished. The gym is sparkling clean and has all the equipment you would need, including a squat rack and barbell, and is not often crowded so it feels like you have a private gym to yourself a lot of the time. The co-working spaces are open and airy. Best of all, there is a real sense of community here. Most of the tenants are young working professionals however there are families living here as well. Everyone is friendly, and often times my walk through the lobby will involve a quick hi to other tenants or a longer conversation to get to know the other people living here. The property management are so friendly and easy to talk to, They are very responsive and quick to solve any issues you may have. Finally, the price is very attractive for what you get here. This is likely because they are a new development (another plus) so I would definitely give them a tour if you are looking.

The Building has amazing amenities and the apartments are beautiful and have a very good distribution. Dan, the manager and the whole team are amazing, everyone is really nice and always willing to help. I highly recommend this place!!

My 1 year stay here at Park & Main Apartments was an overall great experience for me. The application and move in process were very quick and easy, & Jermaine was a great help the entire time. The unit was ready the day of move in and everything was up to par as expected. The apartment community is very chill and the lobby/roof top amenities makes a great space to host gatherings and celebrations. I love that the parking areas for residents are fully gated and not accessible to outsiders. They keep all residential areas very clean as there is a cleaning staff that comes daily. I had no issues with my packages because they provide a safe package delivery storage room for residents as well. Overall if you are looking to rent in the heart of downtown for a great price I’d highly recommend Park & Main!

I recently moved in less than a month ago and love it here! All of the leasing managers are very friendly and know me and my dog by name which makes it a very welcoming environment to stay in. I recently just moved to the area from Orlando and they made the move seamless for me and my puppy! There is a nice gym on the bottom floor and a spacious common area to do homework or complete any other business you may need to outside of your room. The cherry on top of the complex is the amazing billiards room they have for added extra fun. I also really like that maintenance requests are done in a timely manner! 10/10 recommend

Read the reviews carefully: they’re all from people who just moved in, not residents who’ve lived here years.

Edit: a triple shooting across the street 11/14/2023, second shooting in 3 weeks.

Let’s start with the single positive aspect: the current maintenance crew here is fantastic, quick, kind, and capable.

Otherwise avoid renting here. The neighborhood is unsafe, loud and strewn with trash. Cars in the parking lot are broken into. The construction is poor, management is nearly unresponsive, tenants leave trash in the common areas, and packages are stolen.

I moved into a new, never occupied apartment. Immediately, the kitchen sink drain leaked, and the shower faucet was installed improperly, not caulked to the wall causing it to spray water back into the wall, and make a terrible screeching noise (see photo). These two issues were “fixed” but the kitchen sink continued to leak slightly, and the shower faucet remained uncaulked to the wall and continued to screech. These were finally fixed properly a year later when I submitted a second maintenance request. At that time, I discovered that the mixer in the shower faucet in my new apartment had been installed backwards when it was new, and that the first maintenance person left it that way.

More issues with construction: 1 year of moving into the new unit, paint was peeling in my bathroom. No windows in the unit open properly for whatever reason. All of the power outlets are loose and not secured to the wall properly (see photo). Large cracks have appear in paint and walls all over the unit (see photo). The linoleum tiling is peeling and uneven throughout the unit.

I did submit a maintenance request for some of these things, specifically the paint and the flooring. These sat for a few months. It was at this time that perhaps new maintenance were brought on and the paint was touched up (it shouldn’t need to be touched up after a year only) and the floor was repaired after some delay due to outside contractors.

Could I submit further maintenance requests for the additional flooring issues, the outlets, the cracks, and the windows? Yes, I could. But it is a bit cumbersome to coordinate access and movement of furniture for this. The main point is, this is a NEW BUIDLING. These should not be issues. Clearly, cheap construction was used, and at this point it is not worth the headache.

About 6 months after moving in, construction began on a vent for the business on the first floor. Quickly, a very ugly stainless steal vent went up immediately above the main entrance. This immediately began to rust, and within 1 week, the sidewalks were stained an unsightly orange (see photo). Construction on this stalled for approximately a year, and my inquiries into what was going on were met with complete silence until I physically went into the office, where I was told by the former property manager that my concerns were about things that “don’t affect [me]”.

The neighborhood is also extremely unpleasant. People loiter on sidewalks with open containers (see photo) and constantly ask for cash. There is trash strewn all over the street. People drive with their music at full volume at all hours of the night. The building is between two firehouses.

Recently, peoples cars have been broken into. The complex responded by telling us to keep our cars locked and to hide valuable.

To top this all off, getting anyone working at the building to answer an email (besides the excellent maintenance staff) is almost impossible. Impossible that its, unless they need you to renew your lease.

Bottom line, the shiny lobby and exuberate staff are a facade. Once you move in you will find very little to enjoy, with the majority of complaints falling on deaf ears.

Edit: in response to this review management reached out via email offering:
Schedule Outstanding Repairs
Building Transfer: into a 2-bedroom unit in our main building and waive transfer fees.
Lease Termination: terminate lease and waive lease break fees.

Unfortunately, it did take this negative review to coax a written response.
