Keney Park Cricket Field, located in Hartford, Connecticut, offers a scenic and pet-friendly green space nestled within one of the city’s large urban parks. While best known for its historic cricket grounds and vibrant local culture, the area is also a popular spot for dog owners looking for a peaceful place to walk and enjoy time with their furry friends. The park is wheelchair accessible, making it welcoming for all visitors, and features open lawns with plenty of space to explore.
Although dogs may not have a dedicated fenced area or specialized dog amenities, the park’s wide open fields are perfect for on-leash walks, and the ambiance is enriched by nearby cultural eateries and community events. Parking can be tight, especially during cricket matches, but street parking is available. Restrooms are present, though could be improved. Overall, Keney Park Cricket Field offers a blend of sports history and outdoor enjoyment just minutes from downtown Hartford.
Love the cricket history.
Playing cricket games there in the early eighths
I was in the park walking my dog, not the cricket field
Beautiful day for a T20 game
Nice ground … first time here and the ground was good. Outfield was fast and the wicket played well. They hosted minor league cricket in this venue … so it better be good :). There are 2 cricket fields . The other one had some local matches being played . Parking is tight . You can still park on the sides of the road . Restrooms can be better . The neighborhood has a lot of Jamaican restaurants … the neighborhood looked a bit less safe :). Lots of people looking at you ;). If not for the neighborhood, this is a great ground to play ..
