I have reviewed this park before. It is a great park and has a porta potty outside for the humans. It has a safe double gate and doggy clean up bags which the humans need to use to keep the park safer and cleaner.
Only true drawbacks are no area for smaller dogs and there is a bench (launchpad)along one of the fence edges.
This dog park is clean and easy to enter and exit. It was not crowded and offers a large place for dogs to run.
My bf took the pooch out for a run in the powdery snow. They both loved it but hoped there would be another dog or two there.
When driving to this dog park, where does one park?
EDITS
1) A lot of the snow was pushed aside today and parking in the street alongside the park was more available.
2) Walked in myself and noted there IS a 2 gate system for entering and exiting. In addition, the fences and gates were heavy duty.
3) Ours was the smallest dog there, but she is an intense herding breed, so glad all the other dogs were much larger. Did not see a separate area for small dogs. Will check again on our next visit.
4) Bags and a trash are provided, so please pick up after your pooch.
This is a good size dog park for good puppers to run about! They have young trees planted and when they grow tall, this will have great shade to rest in while dogs play. There are lots of places to sit which was really nice and lots of play sites for your fur baby.
You enter through a double gate and pick up bags are available for use there at the entrance. To the right is a little fire hydrant and a place to sit with small shaded area.
They have a good size tube tunnel for the dogs and tires to play on. All the trees planted inside the park have small benches around them. This protects the trees from the dogs but also gives a lovely resting spot. I’m excited for the day when the trees are large and provide shade. It will be very comfortable!
As of right now, there are no water fountains or connections for water so that is a bit disappointing. If they were able to connect something like that, it would be ideal. This is an excellent little park and has potential to be even better in the future.
We love coming to this park! It’s not crowded, nice in and out gate system, and plenty of seating. Worth it to drive from inner Sioux Falls!
