Such a great little beach. Never crowded. Great for power walking, watching the sunrise and baby/toddler adventures. They have a new playground that’s huge and accessible from morning to sunset. Bathrooms available and separate bike path. There are 2 piers, and I opted for the one closer to the playground which is open during the day and locked by a gate by 5 PM daily. During the summer they have a farmers market across at the park.

I’ve always enjoyed coming out to Buckroe Beach in Hampton. The sand is clean, the water is calm, and it’s a great spot to relax without all the heavy crowds you sometimes find at Virginia Beach. There’s plenty of space for families, walkers, and people just wanting to catch the sunset.

As someone who runs a local business (Military Veterans Moving People of Hampton), I really appreciate having a place like this nearby — it’s where I can clear my head after long moving days and reconnect with the community I serve. It’s nice to see so many other Hampton locals making this beach part of their daily routine too.

If you’re in Hampton, I definitely recommend checking out Buckroe Beach. Whether you’re just taking a quick walk, bringing the kids, or just sitting back and listening to the waves, it’s one of those simple treasures that makes this area feel like home. 🌊☀️

One of the nicest and cleanest beaches in the area. Beautiful sunrises can be captured here. It can really get crowded on the weekends though. Overall, I great place to relax and enjoy the bay.

Pretty beach with plenty of lifeguards during the summer season. Dogs allowed during the off season. Playground is brand new. Shelters available for rent. Boardwalk is an easy walk from end to end. Light poles with numbers help keep track of where you are if you have friends meeting you. Beach volleyball area. Summer season large bathrooms open and multiple rinse off stations are located throughout. Single occupant bathrooms open all year which are nice for families. Staff is always on site. Loads of parking but can get packed in summer season. Lots of green space for picnics and activities. Large, accessible pier over the water with picnic tables plenty big for many families to have their own space. Sad they don’t do events there anymore since it has the concert shelter. Also a bummer they haven’t opened the food truck spots again. There’s no food at the beach. Restaurants nearby. And there’s nowhere right there for buying beach things. Have to go to the shopping centers bit further away for a family dollar or dollar general to get last minute beach things.
