This place is awesome! It’s the only place we trust with our fur babies! Pete is so incredibly kind with dogs and understands body language and dog’s behavior, which is super important in keeping dogs safe. He truly cares for our boys like they are his own! I cannot recommend this place enough!
Nice and easy trail with just a few tree stumps to pay attention where you are walking but other than that very easy to walk the trail.Leads straight to the water. Takes 5 minutes or less to get to the water. Very peaceful and beautiful.
My family owned this land MANY yrs.ago and sold it to the town of Hampden.Hampden Recreation Center.A.K.A.”The Rec.”I lived right down the street when I was a kid.EVERYONE that went there knew me.😉Was there every day for a few summers in a row in the mid to late 70s.Swimming lessons,lifeguards, archery,arts & crafts,swings,tetherball,snack bar.Good times.😁

Very easy walking trails next to a calm flowing river. There is one area that is perfect for splashing around with the dog. Great spot to bring a cooler, the dog and have a picnic. Have not seen many cars parked at the lot, and this park is on a very quiet street.Beware of glass, we did pick up a few pieces. There is a PortoJohn at the entrance.
Super nice municipal recreation area. There is a water fall up stream of the rec area that you should explore. Swimming in the stream of wonderful in the early season. Late in the summer the stream becomes stagnant and more weedy.
