FAQ for City of Hamlet – Parks and Recreation Office in Hamlet North Carolina:
I have played softball many years at a couple of locations and always found the fields to be well maintained. I’ve also watched everything from tag football to soccer played in different areas and the fields are always nice and maintained. I really have to say the parks and Recreation crew are very hard workers that seem to really care about what they do. They have a great deal of stuff to maintain and they accomplish it very well. Still enjoying playing ball and hanging out here. I don’t think people give the city workers enough credit. They work very hard and I for one would like to say thanks very much for all you do. Rockingham would be a rat hole without y’all.
If I could make that a negative 1 star, I would! I’ll try to be as brrief as possible, even though I could write short story about the shady, dangerous and biased goings on in the soccer progam. I’ve seen first hand how our kids are getting hurt on a regular basis simply because of the Refs not calling games consistently if at all, without consequence. That is unacceptable considering the so called “Director” is there on site during games! So, if you’re ok with signing your children up in that leaugue that will NOT ensure your kids safety, or anyone’s safety for that matter , only because you’re not in their circles? Im assuming at least! Just be prepared to go through bs llike my family has for yrs now. Up until this mornings events that ended with my daughter receiving a severe concussion, from a bully who continued to push on and BULLY my d daughter with no fouls called until she did some real damage. PLUS when were preparing to leave, we were being suddenly attacked verbally by the “bullies” parents, who was so aggresively that i was scared for my life and m children was also scared for our safety!! All while coaches, directors and at least 20 moreeV kids and bystanders!! The whole situation would have been avoided if the coaches, ref’s, and definitely Mr. Director, stepped in or something!!I apologize forsuch a long review, but people need to know how that department runs.PS. I am not including ANYONE else from tne Hamlet City department in my opinion. Only director and down. Hoping the city managers will follow up with an appropriate way so other families don’t go through it too!!
Nice place for a small town.
Someone didn’t finish raking up. But for the most part the park was clear of all trash. They need to put better swings in.
Had fun tonight
