Fred Long Centennial Park has to be one of my top favorite underrated gems near Blackwater Falls State Park. I might be biased because I personally eloped here, but I’ve watched some of the best sunsets of my life right at this spot. Since the park is westward facing, you’ll never miss a single one. I think I’ve taken some of the best photos of my photography career too!

Bring the family along, this little slice of Almost Heaven is accessible for all. My husband and I chose to elope here because our 80 yr old grandmothers could join us in the mountains with no hiking required. The parking lot is huge and right beside the main road. It’s also totally free to elope here- no permits required (just be respectful, leave no trace ❤️). If you ask me, this is one of the best places to elope in West Virginia.

Check out Fred Long Centennial Park if you’re ready to visit some jaw-dropping mountain views!

Randomly happened upon this spot on our drive from Shenandoah National Park. Found the pull off on the side of the road and stopped to get a few hours of sleep before continuing on. Woke up to the most incredible view at sunrise.

Absolutely breathtaking. If you can manage it, arrive early in the morning just after. Dawn and the valley that you can see below is shrouded and missed him fog. An absolutely beautiful sight.
