Located in a tranquil, residential part of Greenville, South Carolina, Henry Bacon McKoy Park stands out as a calm and welcoming community space. The park offers gorgeous natural views, abundant shade from mature trees, and several benches for owners to relax. Streetside parking makes it easy for local residents to visit, and the park is wheelchair accessible at both the entrance and parking areas, providing inclusive access for all visitors.
While Henry Bacon McKoy Park is not a dedicated dog park with fenced or off-leash areas, it is dog-friendly, and leashed pets are welcome to enjoy serene walks amid the trees. Families will also appreciate the quiet, clean setting, limited playground equipment, picnic tables, and a grill—perfect for a relaxing lunch outdoors. Its peaceful ambiance, neighborhood charm, and pet-friendly atmosphere make it a delightful spot for dog owners seeking a gentle outing near downtown Greenville.
Great place. The park land was a gift from Mr. McKoy who was a great citizen of Greenville and a Caucasian. Why would anyone have a problem with that?
The view and trees are beautiful and it’s quite relaxing to just sit and enjoy a little serenity and the sounds of nature.
Unfortunately the playground is fairly limited. There’s no slide or any of the normal climbing/walkway structures for younger or even grade school kids, and instead mostly a set of agility and obstacle course type exercises suitable for older kids (at least 8-10+yrs old I would think, although not sure as my son is 3.5).
There are two nice picnic tables and one of them has a grill.
Too small, no designated parking spaces …no slides. Looks like it’s in someone’s backyard
Very nice and peaceful park in a beautiful neighborhood! Clean with streetside parking. Great views and a fun place to take the little ones. Everyone is very friendly! Multiple benches and a grill. I recommend having lunch here, too.
It’s Very Small! Nestled in between a BUNCH of private homes in a Caucasian neighborhood, (all eyes on u from every backyard) lol. If u have Loud Children Don’t bring them here!!!! There’s No public Restroom, Kids can do but so much they’ll get bored Very fast!!! It’s Cute but it’s Obviously only for the neighborhood Children who live here!
