Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Located in the heart of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Whitney Park offers a fenced dog park that gives your furry friend plenty of space to run, play, and socialize. This pet-friendly park is known for its green lawns, welcoming atmosphere, and proximity to downtown amenities. Whitney Park also features picnic tables, a children’s playground, swings, slides, public restrooms, and has onsite parking and wheelchair accessibility, making it a versatile destination for families and dog owners alike.
While the playground and dog park are well maintained, some users have noted occasional concerns about the general area’s safety and the presence of non-park users. Despite these challenges, many local dog owners appreciate the opportunity for their pets to enjoy off-leash play, meet new friends, and take part in Green Bay’s growing community of dog lovers. Be sure to plan ahead as water fountains for dogs are not available, and restroom accessibility can sometimes be inconsistent.
Since I was told the homeless people were banned from the park, we’ve come back with our dog. Not many people go there yet as it’s still a little chilly, but I’ve always loved this park because my dog loves seeing her friends she’s made there.
Update 1 yr later….the homeless are back and every time I bring my girls, there’s a dog that gets in a tussel with mine and I leave and have to clean an injury on my dog(s).
Crackhead Park. I would never take my children here. Mostly just a hangout for homeless people and drug addicts.
The only thing I like about this park is. They have a plate for the dogs to run and play. Otherwise, they need to keep the bathrooms clean and keep the bathrooms open.Every time.I go there they are closed……
The playground and dog park are very well maintained however the area and people that occupy the pavilion can be very sketchy sometimes! The drinking fountain for the dogs is nonexistent which is a bummer but not the worst. There are minimal structures for the dogs to run across but the fenced in area for the dogs is decent sized and perfect for those dog zoomies.
Not recommended for women or children there are a lot of what appears to be homeless man sleeping and hanging out in front of the dark area by the woman’s restroom they also urine all the site it right by the picnic table and use it. If that isn’t bad enough they make bad remarks to women that are coming in the vicinity. I’m giving the impression there’s a high chance of rape if you went in there particularly later in the day. I noticed no police presence in this park on several occasions other areas of the park aren’t much better where there is Shady looking character sleeping with all their belongings on the bench
