Rover Run Dog Park, situated along the scenic Poudre River Trail in Greeley, Colorado, is a favorite spot for local dog owners seeking outdoor fun and exercise for their furry companions. This spacious, off-leash park is popular for its large, fenced area, allowing dogs plenty of room to run, play, and socialize in a safe environment. Owners appreciate the ability to walk or hike the perimeter on paved paths alongside their pups, making it an ideal spot for anyone searching for pet-friendly trails or dog-friendly hiking options.
The park is wheelchair accessible, features picnic tables, public restrooms, and convenient paved perimeter paths. While shade is limited, the open space and connectivity to the beautiful Poudre River Trail make it a unique destination. During wet weather, be prepared for muddy patches and large puddles, and don’t forget your bug spray as insects can be plentiful, especially in the evenings. Rover Run offers a blend of natural beauty—eagles, prairie dogs, and wild birds abound—making it a relaxing outing for both pets and their people.
Absolutely the best dog park around! But always clean up after your fur family please! I spend a great deal of time cleaning up after irresponsible pet owners! I’ve watched dogs attack each other and know two dogs that died at this dog park so please be responsible and respectful there is the occasional skunk, rabbits and early morning coyotes looking for wild turkey nest I recommend walking the paved trails north of the dog park you can see the fence where the animals crawl under to get to the water and the train tracks pretty to see birds
One of my favorite place to ride my electric skateboard. The trail acces in super convenient and you can take it all the way to windsor! The trail is breathtaking with so much natural beauty. Bald eagles nests, prairie dogs, cranes, birds, streams, river, and sections with canopies of trees that make you feel like you’re in a magical fantasy land. The only thing to note for caution is around 5pm the bugs come out so I wear my dirt bike goggles to avoid them flying into my eyes. Natural bug spray is recommended.
We’ve been here a few times but won’t be going back. My puppy was running around and I can’t tell if it was the fence or another dog but she came up to me covered in blood and had two massive gashes on her side. 4,000 dollars later and she’s finally better but be careful here
Nice dog park for social dogs. My girls were happy to play for a bit and sniff everything. Big enough to for them to run around and burn off some energy but there is not much shade. There is a nice paved path along the parameter so you can walk around without getting muddy.
My dogs love this park. It’s big enough for them to run around and sniff endlessly. While they play I get a few steps in while walking the perimeter of the park (as many people do). My only issue is that when it rains or snows there are a few large puddles that form and of course you end up with very dirty pups but I guess that’s just part of being a pet parent. Oh and don’t forget to bring your insect repellent with you!
