Great walk about. Paid parking or free with empire pass but you need the physical card not the app to get the free empire pass parking! Beautiful area to spend a day.

One of the most underrated places on Long Island. The cafe is awesome and staff are super friendly. Outdoor seating and indoor. Hiking trails up to 3 hours or just 10-20 min. Each season has something to offer and the visitors center is new and has bathrooms and AC near the parking.

Lovely gardens with magnificent shrubs, trees and flowers. Nice walking paths, and picturesque settings to sit, rest, relax and take in the beauty. The cafe in premises is convenient and a nice spot to grab a bite or refreshing beverage.

“Every other week, I find myself drawn back to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale, where the dahlia garden reaches its breathtaking peak by late September, transforming the grounds into a living tapestry of color and beauty. Beyond the stunning blooms and diverse plantings, the arboretum offers a complete experience with concerts, a welcoming cafe, and the chance to step inside history through its preserved historical house.“

The first time I visited was fall. Then I visited again in Spring. Different seasons have different impression but all beautiful. .. Attached a few pictures for your enjoyment 😊
It’s a state park so you payNULL admission. However, it’s free today… Probably it’s off season? You also no need to pay if you are senior and visit on a weekday.
There are plenty parkings, a restaurant, and clean restrooms. Plenty of flowers in spring time and foliage was so pretty in fall. I love walking along the lake and get on the Breezy Island. The park is big so it’s not crowded. You can spot some birds there easily…I even saw a few wild turkeys today!!
