I found this beach / park some 20 summers ago while traveling across the state with my boys. Bring a floaty! The water is crystal clear, the bottom is mostly sandy & does not drop off too quickly making it great for kids of any age. Also there is plenty of shade, though not incredibly close to the waters edge.
Free camping with one easy requirement… Call the Sheriff’s Department and tell them You are looking for a free campsite at this park, leave your name, driver’s license number, registration number and your phone number. Complete with plenty of space, privacy and beaches right on the lake, firings, picnic tables, porta potty and many, many recreational opps😍

Since I was just a small child this has always been my favorite destination to swim near the town I grew up in I will always love this place
Our favorite place to swim with our toddler. Crystal clear water, quiet peaceful vibes and even shade when needed! We love this (not-so-hidden) gem.
Nice playground, the “beach” is down a moderately steep hill. I’ll have to remember to bring a sled here in the winter as there are also decent hills by the playground. There is grass almost all the way to the water line. There are swimming bouys in place and the sand in the water is nice and clean.
