Joe Taylor Park is a popular community spot located at 1001 Baxter St SE, right in the heart of Grand Rapids, MI. This centrally located park is well-known for being family and dog-friendly, offering a variety of amenities suitable for guests of all ages. While dogs are welcome, please keep in mind that this location is not a dedicated dog park, but pets are allowed to enjoy the green space alongside their owners on-leash.
The park features a vibrant playground with slides, swings, and a splash pad, making it a great destination for families with children. There are benches around the play areas for resting, as well as public restrooms for convenience. Accessibility is another plus, as the park provides wheelchair-friendly entrances and parking, making it inclusive for all visitors. While the park is generally well-kept and lively, visitors should be aware of concerns mentioned in reviews about occasional safety and supervision, particularly in the surrounding area.
Really nice park looks like lots of kids play there, can’t wait for them to turn on the water park so I can bring the kiddos out there to play in the water!
Too many things go on in the area itself not a safe place for kids
Fun splash pad for kiddos, the play ground next to it is fun too. Benches all around the splash pad are fine. Bathroom was kinda gross though.
Nice park but drug dealing around it makes for a risky location.
Day camp there this summer seems well supervised
Everything as far a park itself goes it nice and nicely kept up. However everytime I’ve gone there’s always been just adults hanging out by playground chillin and drinking or whatever. Sadly it could be good but just not safe for adults and def not kids.
