Zelzah Park offers a welcoming open space for dog owners and families in Granada Hills, California. Known for its pet-friendly attitude and wide, rolling areas, this park attracts local dog lovers looking for a spot where dogs can socialize and play. Although there is no fenced dog area, many visitors bring their dogs off-leash to enjoy the large dirt bowl that offers plenty of space to run. Please note, as the park is not fully enclosed, care is needed, especially with dogs who like to wander. The park is surrounded by family homes and even has a horse stable next door, enhancing its unique neighborhood charm.
In addition to being a favorite spot for dogs, Zelzah Park features amenities such as a playground for kids, swings, and slides, making it truly family-friendly. The park is wheelchair accessible, allowing everyone to enjoy the space. While there have been reports of maintenance issues such as non-working water fountains and dried grass, the park remains popular for dog socializing and kid-friendly activities. Parking can be limited, and note that the playground may occasionally be closed for repairs. Bring your own water and waste bags, as facilities may be unavailable.
Very little designated parking & no bathrooms. Lots of people with their dogs off leash as well
Is a nice park to walk around !! The kids can play and run !! Good for the dogs too !!!
The grass is dead. Trees are dying. Some have been cut down. It’s a giant dirt bowl. There seems to be NO MAINTENANCE. SPRINKLERS DON’T WORK. Water fountains don’t work. Today the playground has caution tape around it and the parking lot is closed. What is going on?!?!
This is a very nice park;however, people do not respect city code ordinances of dogs On leash . Dogs roam freely and pee in the kids sand area. The owners don’t seem to care or have any sense of urgency about restraining them and allowing others(kids) to have their dogs in their free space MY ONLY CONCERN.
Love Zelzah park, I take my puppies here to socialize with other dogs often and there are many other dogs off leash too! Very friendly environment and lots of dog lovers! Big wide open space on an uphill with no closed off fence but enough space for dogs not to run off into the street. Surrounded by homes and a horse stable next door, so you might see a horse here and there. Watch your step, there are lots of holes on the ground because of the groundhogs that live there.
