It would likely normally be a fine boat launch but due to dam conditions the water level has been lowered significantly. That makes entry and exit tricky and/or muddy as heck. The reservoir is still a nice place to paddle, however.

Beautiful place easy launch and paddle.

Jim Cotsonas

Wonderful time kayaking. To bad the state is being jerks about it.

If you are nearby, then this is a fine place to kayak. It’s about a 1 hr paddle. But if you are not nearby, then it’s not worth the drive.
Launch site is easy. Mostly gravel and you can drive right to the water. A lot of folk on SUPs.

Went here to kayak for the first time. Quite the hidden gem, only 3 others on the water. If you have an inflatable kayak or SPB be careful the ramp has a lot of sharp shale so be careful launching as to not puncture your water device. The leaves were just changing on my trip and it was beautiful. Very large body of water and very quiet. You feel like you’re surrounded by untouched nature, although there are trails all around the reservoir. There is a dock as well and a small area to picnic. You can drive your vehicle down, just make sure you drive it back up to park before you head out on the water.
