Dog Park, off-leash at Ulysses Park

Dog Park at Ulysses Park is a small off-leash dog park located in Golden, CO, known for its scenic views and being kid-friendly. The park allows dogs to roam off-leash but is relatively small and does not have separate areas for small and large dogs. It can get muddy in wet conditions, which may impact usability. The park features surrounding walking paths, playgrounds nearby, and fields, making it a versatile spot for families and dog owners.

Golden needs to get with the times and create dog parks that have separate sections for small and large dogs. This park is quite small (too small to divide into sections) and there are always large dogs here, or no dogs at all. So, it’s not much use for us since we have a Chihuahua-mix that doesn’t play well with large dogs. I have to take her to Wheat Ridge where there is a nice park with large and small dog sections.
Solid park, skating, fileds and a couple playgrounds available. Good for walking and dog friendly. Nice views.
A little small but it allows your dog to be off leash. I enjoyed the views more than anything
It is a very nice place when it is dry. But when walking our 2 small dogs a person came in with thier larger dog. We had a puppy ourselves, and you were correct it is a dog park. But there are signs asking for the dog to be on a leash and picked up after. That’s why we chose this park our daushaunds need to watch out foe thier backs. I pray that next time he reads the signs even if it is just a dog park….
Golden Parks: why in the world are you drenching this place with sprinklers right before everyone shows up every morning? It turns it into a mud pit and causes a lot of avoidable damage to the park. Unlike the ball fields next door, the dog park is used most heavily first thing in the morning. Please adjust your watering schedule. This was a great place in the winter with no watering, but in the summer it is constantly a mud pit every single morning unnecessarily due entirely to lack of correct management. It’s so muddy it’s not even usable today. On storm days you expect this, but it shouldn’t be every day. Please switch your watering schedule to water at 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. when the park closes.
EDIT: Called parks in 2021 and they said they would try to address this but that it wasn’t that easy to do a system limitation. Haven’t gone here lately, so wondering if this is still a current problem or not…
