8th St Dog Park is a well-loved, moderately sized dog park located across from the Golden Community Center. It features a large fenced area with soft pebbled gravel, providing a clean and safe environment for dogs to play off-leash. The park includes communal water bowls, a water fountain (seasonally off), a picnic table, and a small shady area around the edges. It offers a friendly community atmosphere and is accessible with a wheelchair accessible entrance. While it lacks extra amenities like rain shelters or agility equipment, it serves as a simple and effective spot for dogs and owners to socialize and relax.

Favorite dog park in the area because it’s not too big, not too small. It’s just right!

Lots of friendly dogs and owners here! I appreciate the water bowls and waste receptacles. My dog was very happy with this park!

Simple Little Park, nice location, nice people, dogs were well behaved.

Small but cute. There is more than 1 entrance, so be careful if your dogs bolt since only the main entrance has the 2 gate system. There is a little shade around the edge of the park. Bring your own water.

Dogs 4 months and older and immunized are listed on the rules posted to the gate, and highly reccomend going before sunset, when the chill sets in quick. The park is on the north side of 8th st. across the street from Golden Community Center, and the community gardens, and before the apartments on 8th street if you are driving from west to east. I’ve missed seeing the park a couple of times while driving in the past. It’s a pretty large fenced in area with soft pebbled gravel across the ground, not muddy, nor easy to fall in. Good choice considering how dogs get dirty, then jump on us owners. Seems to let moisture wick away, so there wasn’t slushy snow everywhere. I appreciate that there are communal dog bowls for water, there is a water fountain that is off for the winter. So bring water for your needs and there are a couple of toys out in the park for all, but may be wise to write on your own toys, avoid confusion. It was great for my dog to make friends with the other dogs and play unleashed! I’ve never seen my hyper 6 month old dog, a German Shep mix so CALM and peaceful til after playing so much! It was way over due for us to visit.
I’d do 4 stars on being a basic, purpose serving dog park with a place for watering the dog and a pic-nic table in a fenced in area. Not an “extra bells and whistles” kind of park, but a simple get the job done play area. There is a structure for shade, but not a structure to block rain or snow. The other people being friendly and sense of community and respect for each other there make it a 5 star. Plus the pups are all adorable and really notice when you’re carrying treats in your pocket, so you get to greet other adorable pups that are eager to sit and pay full attention to your treats! The park is so large you can easily throw a ball as far as you can and never make it out of the fenced area, but not large enough to lose your dog.
