Located within the scenic Valley of the Rogue State Park in Gold Hill, Oregon, this dog park offers a beautiful stop for travelers and local pet owners alike. The park boasts large, securely fenced areas that welcome both small and large dogs, and is situated near the paved Greenway Trail and the picturesque Rogue River. Visitors can enjoy pet-friendly trails, quiet surroundings, and easy access from I-5, making it the perfect location for a quick break or an extended outdoor adventure with your four-legged friend.
Key amenities include separate sections for small and large dogs, plenty of seating and covered picnic areas, water fountains, and access to waste bags. There’s abundant parking for cars, RVs, and even semi-trucks, and nearby picnic tables and restrooms make your visit comfortable. While grass coverage varies and the terrain can be a mix of cut weeds and barkchips, the open space, agility equipment, and tennis balls provide a fun and enriching environment for your dog. Shade is available in covered areas, and dog owners often enjoy nearby walking trails along the river, enhancing your Gold Hill dog-friendly adventure.
The park was nice. The dog park is a nice size. Unfortunately, there weren’t any other dogs here at the time that I went with my dog. My dog was trying to catch some squirrels. There was easy access to the water. The bathroom was clean. There will be a charge for day use starting in October 2025.
Nice place to stop when traveling. They have a large fenced area for the dogs to run. The rest area is next to the river so it’s a pretty area. Good place to stop and stretch or walk around and let the dogs run. There are picnic tables there as well.
Park has dog bags and it’s fairly big. Grass isn’t trimmed very often and when it was trimmed it was only trimmed on the sides. There is also a fair bit of dog poop in the park so I don’t think it’s cleaned very often. Other than that it’s a good area to bring the dogs and let them run around.
Excellent dog park although it’s not grassy. It’s basically cut weeds. But it works for fetch, which is what our dog needs. Lots of room for fetch.
Very enjoyable place to stop and stretch off I5. Lots of day use parking available, trailer/rv and semi truck parking available in separate parking lot also. Near the paved greenway trail and a few steps away from getting a glance of the rogue river. One large pen, all dog sizes.
