Very easy scenic trail with wildflowers in bloom! Had to pick up bikes to get over a downed tree across the trail after Mile 3. WooWee the smell from the cow & chicken farms took our breathes away
The trail goes from Kalamazoo to South Haven. The trail is dirt mostly however, it is very compact and riding a bike on it is no problem. The trail is also relatively flat.
I did a 20 miles out, 20 miles back ride. Overall, a very nice trail. It’s mostly shaded as it goes through wooded areas. The terrain is primarily packed dirt with some crushed gravel (and a short portion was paved). There were a few spots with deep rut that have been filled in with crushed gravel–which can be dangerous on a bicycle (around mile marker 14.5 was the worst). The trail is mostly flat with some gradual grades. There are a lot of spots that you have to stop to cross roads.
What a beautiful day for a bike ride and a neat place to stop.
This is one of the bright spots of the trail. Gobels has a great deal to offer for a break from the trail.
