Darling Love

We absolutely love coming to Cosmo Dog Park every Saturday with our small dog! It’s such a friendly place, and we appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. It’s great to see both big dogs and little dogs playing together and getting along so well.

The sense of community here is fantastic, and it makes for a wonderful outing every week. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy some time outdoors with your furry friend, this park is the perfect choice!

I’m playing the role of critic here.
More than anything it is incredible this large swath of land was set aside for pups!
That’s so special and is deeply appreciated.

It’s a hard one to rate because it’s wonderful for what it is!
And also it’s not particularly special on a global dog park scale.
With in the greater Phoenix area we’ve visited much smaller parks that had more “soul”? Personality?

The dogs and their human companions were all extremely friendly. 10/10.

It’s a good size with several fenced off areas within the dog park.
There’s a clean, if not prison like, public restroom at the top of the hill by parking.
A human children play area as well.

You will find picnic tables under cover throughout the park,
including in the gated dog area.

There were many bins, complimentary bags, and even scooping tools about.
This does not mean the walk from the car to the dog park was poo free.
Quite to the contrary- the most dog poo I’ve seen in one area. Ever.
Not in the fenced off portion however.

I can only speak for when we went, and I’m likely seeing things through the eyes of someone who’s been to some epic dog parks.
It’s dry dry.
Yeah I know, Arizona.
But it feels void of any life.
Visually underwhelming.
The water feature is by far the best part!

The clever fire hydrant water fountain and seating area had nice trees and was the most aesthetically pleasing section of the park.

We aren’t from the area, only visiting.
We drove a good distance from where we were staying to experience the “best dog park in Phoenix”.
For my taste, it’s going to take a LOT more shade and plants to truly earn that title.

Attention Dog owners please be aware that although the park is shown as Temporarily Closed, it’s due to the lake being closed for renovations, the fenced area for dogs is still open. We almost went somewhere else and so glad we took the risk to check it out first. Park Administration please open the Timid Dogs section. All small and large dogs roaming in the same space was a little nerve racking.

What an amazing dog park! All enclosed but separated big and small areas, hangout area, and swimming area! Overall the best place in the area to take your dog! Only wish it had more parking.

One dog run area is open during construction. The beach is closed, the lake drained. There is still green grass and shade 6pm and later in sweltering June. If you have a dog that likes rolling in cool grass, then there is still something to be had here. June, 2025
