We went the first week in October so we could bring our dog with us. It was quiet but the weather was warm and perfect. Had a great time. Beach is clean and peaceful!

We loved our late fall visit to Reid State Park. A friend of ours recommended it as a lovely mix of both rocky and sandy beaches. It is a beautiful area, we saw a photographer capturing the evening light. The sand is different than Long sands, it is a challenging walk as the sand doesn’t compress in the same way as other beaches. It’s a shorter beach, .75 miles one way but it’s a very pleasant with a nice rocky area at each end that adds texture to pictures. It’s close to nothing but it was a pretty drive out to this state park. The restrooms were closed for the season but there was a clean port-o-let on the premises.

End of season, September 29th. Beautiful beach and rock outcroppings. Todds Point road was closed for season, but could still hike to the beach. Was getting a little busier at 11:00 am, but still plenty of parking.

This is probably one of my favorite ocean spots to go. You have crashing waves non stop, it’s your normal beach. When you come in through the gates you have to pay a fee, six dollars for adult maine residents. They do close the gates at night so it’s not really a beach you can sneak into at night unless you walk in and its a pretty far walk and even then you would have nowhere to park your car. My suggestion just save the hassle and go during the day when they are open. There’s two sides you can go, right side is more for adults/couples, left side is mostly for kids/families. However, the family side has the rocks you can climb on and is the best side, in my opinion. From the beach the bathrooms are kinda a hike and an inconvenience, so go to the bathroom first. They have showers but sometimes they are not open. The area is absolutely beautiful, you can pop up a beach tent and just lay the day away, just becareful on the right side (the couples/adult side), if you open up a tent if the tide is out beware you may need to move it a couple times when the tides coming in, unless you plan it correctly. They keep the beach area very clean and no trash laying around. I have other ocean spots I enjoy as well, but this is one of my favorites. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Overall, 5 stars! ❤️

Sandy beaches and rocky outcroppings, as well as a quiet lagoon provide something for everyone. We spotted white tail deer browsing just outside the park. There are a nice variety of flowers to delight photographers. The air is cool and fresh, and the sounds of crashing waves and sea birds will make you forget your troubles! One caution: there is a lot of poison ivy, so stay on trails and don’t brush up against vegetation along pathways. Reid is one of the many treasures you find in Maine—-the way life should be!
