Scott County Dog Park is a convenient and well-maintained destination for local pet owners seeking a safe environment for their dogs to play off-leash. Conveniently located directly behind the Scott County Humane Society, this fenced Georgetown, KY dog park offers a secure spot where your furry friends can run freely. The park is accessible for wheelchairs and families, making it a welcoming spot for community members of all ages.
Amenities include multiple benches under shady trees, water access for dogs, waste stations, and plenty of green space for play. Locals appreciate the friendly atmosphere and how well the park is maintained, offering peace of mind to owners who want their pets to socialize and exercise. Though the park area is on the smaller side, its location within a larger public park means you’ll often find plenty of activity and opportunities for both dogs and their owners.
Exactly what we need for our dog: a secure enclosure for her to run off leash a bit. There’s a spigot, a trash for baggies, and some benches, so it’s pretty basic but on the bright side it seems very well maintained. We go about once a week and its never overgrown.
Nice small dog park. Great for when you don’t have a backyard or don’t have a fenced area for your dog.
Loved that they had 2 benches for “owners” to sit. Has a couple of trees and fire hydrants for dogs to sniff around.
water bowl in corner and 3 different entrances for ease of access.
Lots of activity while we were there and everyone was super nice, making sure that no dogs got out and that “play times” were ok and friendly.
Lots of people walking in the park this is attached to.
We parked in the rear of the animal shelter parking lot, as the dog park in located right behind their facility in the public park.
It’s not a bad area at all. Wish the lawn upkeep was a little better, but it still a nice place for a dog to get energy out. More activities for them would also be welcomed. Area isn’t very big, so accommodating multiple dogs would be hard-pressed. For a community park, Scott Co. could do better for the tax money received for the animal community. This is a large community with pet owners that don’t have access to property for their loved ones. Hopefully, it will be addressed in the future.
