Georgetown Park is a beloved dog park in Georgetown, California, offering a large, shaded space for dogs to run, play, and socialize. Known for its mature trees, walking tracks, and community feel, this pet-friendly park features two separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs, allowing for safe off-leash play and social opportunities for all kinds of pups. Frequent visitors praise the extensive shade, dog agility equipment, and friendly regulars, making it one of the most popular dog-friendly destinations in the area.
Beyond its dog facilities, the park also boasts picnic tables, a gazebo, children’s play structures, and a tranquil natural setting with scenic trails perfect for dog-friendly hiking and casual strolls. Water stations and tubs provide refreshment for dogs, although the human restrooms are limited to porta potties. Whether you’re seeking a spot for off-leash exercise or just a peaceful place to relax with your pet in Georgetown, Georgetown Park is a true local gem.
It’s a nice little park with picnic tables, acouple decorations, a play structure, swings, and a big gazebo.
Bathrooms are just basically porta potties and generally things seem a bit dated and not super well maintained but not too bad overall.
I’ve lived near this park since I was a kid playing on it. Now I take my nieces and nephew to play there if I can’t take them to the playground at the school right up the road. The park was once a lovely place to take the kiddos. Now however it’s lacking in general upkeep. There are parts of the play equipment that have exposed rusty metal and the whole thing is in need of an upgrade. There’s random graffiti depicting inappropriate images for small kids on it as well. The bathrooms at the park have been closed for years so all they have is a rather smelly portapotty. The bear and mushroom cement statues are crumbling from years of neglect. All in all it’s an okay option for kids if all other options aren’t available.
This park gives me great memories, as my dad was the one to install the play gym and we “helped”, but I am a bit disappointed by the lack of maintenance and landscaping. The restrooms didn’t last long and have been vacant for years now. I’d like to see those open again. On the other hand, thanks to whoever repainted the bear and the mushroom statues!
Nice little park for kids. A bench under a light and three trash cans. Nice place. I go here to eat and it’s peaceful.
Sweet little park with a wonderful Gazebo built as an Eagle Scout project. Wandering creek and nice little walking path as well as a good play are for younger children.
